CDL training for the Laredo / Webb County area
Laredo is one of the busiest freight gateways in the country, and Raider Express runs refrigerated freight through it every week. If you live in the Laredo area and want a Class A CDL without paying tuition, Fort Worth CDL School is built for you. The school itself is in Fort Worth (Haslet, TX), about six hours north on I-35, and lodging is available for out-of-town students if needed so you can train Monday–Friday and go home on the weekends.
Fort Worth CDL School is owned by Raider Express, a refrigerated carrier — we train drivers because we hire drivers. Training is free, you are paid $600/week while you learn, and you have a guaranteed job the day you graduate. Secure parking for your personal vehicle is available at our Fort Worth terminal while you are over the road.
We regularly train drivers from Rio Bravo, El Cenizo, Zapata, Cotulla, Encinal, Carrizo Springs, Hebbronville, Freer, Bruni and Mirando City — across Webb, Zapata, La Salle, Dimmit, Jim Hogg, Duval counties.
How it works
Apply online
The application takes about 10 minutes. A recruiter reaches out as soon as possible — usually the same or next business day once you meet the initial qualifications.
4 weeks of CDL school — paid
Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM at our Fort Worth (Haslet) training yard. We help you get your Class A permit, testing is on site, and you're paid $600/week while you learn.
Graduate & get hired
Finish school and you're a Raider Express employee — guaranteed. No contract, no payback, and a $2,500 completion bonus.
4 weeks with a trainer, then your own truck
Four weeks over the road with a certified trainer at $800/week minimum, then you're assigned your own truck. First-year drivers averaged $70,000 in 2025.

Do you qualify?
- ✓Background Check. No DUI/DWI, no drug charges, no violent offenses.
- ✓Minimum Age. The Department of Transportation requires all professional drivers be at least 21 years old.
- ✓Drug Test & DOT Physical. Prospective drivers must pass a hair follicle drug test, alcohol test, and a DOT physical by an approved doctor.
- ✓Stable Work History. Must have 2 years of verifiable, stable work history.
- ✓Motor Vehicle Record. All motor vehicle records are reviewed to ensure qualification.

Is the school in Laredo?+
No — the school is in Fort Worth (Haslet, TX). Laredo-area students can stay in hotel lodging arranged through the school Sunday night through Friday morning during the four weeks of training and go home on the weekends.
Is lodging available?+
Yes. Hotel lodging (double occupancy, full kitchen) is available for approved out-of-town students if needed. Your recruiter arranges it before your start date.
What happens to my car while I'm over the road?+
Secure parking for your personal vehicle is available at our Fort Worth terminal while you are over the road.
