Looking for CDL training in Dallas? Fort Worth CDL School is the closest free, paid Class A CDL program for Dallas-area drivers — our training yard in Haslet is about 40 minutes from downtown Dallas via I-35W or TX-114, and most students commute from home during the four weeks of school.

We are not a tuition school. Fort Worth CDL School is owned by Raider Express, a Fort Worth refrigerated carrier, so training costs you nothing, you are paid $600/week while you learn, and you have a guaranteed job when you finish. Secure parking for your personal vehicle is available at our Fort Worth terminal while you are over the road.

We regularly train drivers from Plano, Irving, Garland, Grand Prairie, McKinney, Frisco, Mesquite, Carrollton, Richardson, Lewisville, Allen, Denton, Flower Mound, Rowlett, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Wylie, Duncanville, Lancaster, Rockwall, Waxahachie, Terrell and Greenville — across Dallas, Collin, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis counties.

The application takes about 10 minutes. A recruiter reaches out as soon as possible — usually the same or next business day once you meet the initial qualifications.

4 weeks of CDL school — paid

Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM at our Fort Worth (Haslet) training yard. We help you get your Class A permit, testing is on site, and you're paid $600/week while you learn.

Graduate & get hired

Finish school and you're a Raider Express employee — guaranteed. No contract, no payback, and a $2,500 completion bonus.

4

4 weeks with a trainer, then your own truck

Four weeks over the road with a certified trainer at $800/week minimum, then you're assigned your own truck. First-year drivers averaged $70,000 in 2025.

Do you qualify?

  • ✓Background Check. No DUI/DWI, no drug charges, no violent offenses.
  • ✓Minimum Age. The Department of Transportation requires all professional drivers be at least 21 years old.
  • ✓Drug Test & DOT Physical. Prospective drivers must pass a hair follicle drug test, alcohol test, and a DOT physical by an approved doctor.
  • ✓Stable Work History. Must have 2 years of verifiable, stable work history.
  • ✓Motor Vehicle Record. All motor vehicle records are reviewed to ensure qualification.

How far is the school from Dallas?+

About 40 miles — roughly 40 minutes from downtown Dallas, 30 minutes from Irving or Grapevine, and 45 minutes from Plano or Garland.

Can I commute from Dallas each day?+

Yes. Class runs Monday–Friday, 7 AM–5 PM. Most Dallas-area students drive in daily. If the commute is too far, ask your recruiter about lodging.

Will I be home in Dallas once I'm driving?+

Raider Express is headquartered in the Fort Worth area, so home time is routed through DFW. Secure parking for your personal vehicle is available at the terminal while you are over the road.
